Dry Type Water Meters

Dry Type Water Meters; A water meter is a measuring instrument designed to continuously measure, memorize and display the volume of water flowing through it.
In our administration, dry type cold water meters with DN 20 mm nominal diameter, L=190 mm, B length, turbine, multi-jet and counting device protected from water (with glycerin) are used. The nominal flow rate of the said water meter is 1.5 m3/h according to the 75/33/AT Cold Water Meters Regulation of the Ministry of Science, Industry and Technology, and the continuous flow rate is 2.5 m3/h according to the 204/22/AT MI – 001 Measuring Instruments Regulation. The accuracy class (metrological measurement) of this water meter is “B” according to the 75/33/AT Cold Water Meters Regulation of the Ministry of Science, Industry and Technology, and the measuring range is Q3 / Q1 “R 100” according to the 2004/22 AT BI – 001 Measuring Instruments Regulation is happening.

What is Dry Type Water Meters, What Is It?

Water meters are measuring instruments that determine the amount of water used by connecting to the inlet of the water installation for measuring cold and hot water consumption. The energy efficiency law (heat sharing regulation) requires the implementation of cost sharing systems in buildings where sanitary hot water is obtained from central systems. Water meters can be equipped with a wireless module or a wired module at any time and easily. It is a device that measures the amount of hot water passing through the water inlet line on the basis of m3 or liters. It is suitable for all kinds of mounting diameters and shapes. The meter direction must be the same as the flow direction of the water. Meter assemblies must be horizontal, with the calculation units facing up. In order to prevent reverse flow, check valves can be installed in the branches before the meters. The surroundings of the devices should be left open in order not to cause communication problems. The communication module on the meter must be protected from any impact and water contact. Different types of counter options are available. The water meter is manufactured to meet all kinds of water measurement needs from 15 mm diameter to 800 mm diameter.

What Does Dry Type Water Meters Do?

It is a measuring instrument that helps the Water Administration collect the cost of the water used. It shows the amount of water passing through it in volume (m³) on a screen above it.

Where are Dry Type Water Meters Used?

According to the new regulation, household type meters should be placed at the entrance of the apartment as in the electricity hours of the apartments. Putting them in circles is not suitable for reading the meter.

If there is no suitable place in the building, the meter is placed in a manhole to be built in the garden. The manhole is insulated with a size that can be entered for maintenance and repair purposes and at a depth to protect the meter from frost. A strainer should be placed to drain the water that can be entered into the manhole and the strainer should be connected to the waste water system. When connecting the meter to the installation, the meter is connected so that there is no air in it. If the meter is higher than the pipe, air accumulates, and if it is lower, sediment accumulates. The piping must be done in such a way as to ensure that the meter is always filled with water. The way to do this is to make the flow pipe higher than the meter. A valve should be placed before and after the meter. If there is a water tank, hydrophore or boiler in the installation, a check valve should be placed after the meter to prevent the water from flowing into the city installation. Connecting the meter to the installation is done with the help of the unions at both ends.

  • There must be a filter system before the meter in the installation.
  • • The most suitable position for the meter specified in the assembly manuals should be selected and if there is an existing installation, its suitability for the meter should be checked.
  • The water meter should be in an easily readable, light, frost-proof, easy-to-reach meter box, suitable for maintenance and repair.
