External Pressure Compensator

External Pressure Compensator; External Pressure Expansion Joint is a type of compensator used in very long pipelines. It is very difficult to absorb high expansion amounts in such pipelines. It is imperative to use multi-node compensators for a strong absorption. However, the possibility of twisting of multi-node compensators is very high.

External pressure compensators basically change the direction of the fluid. Thus, the pressure is applied to the outside of the bellows and compensators resistant to high pressure and expansion amounts are formed. It is possible to state that such compensators have wide usage areas thanks to their high absorption power.

Products depending on different expansion amounts are manufactured with 30, 60, 90 and 120 mm expansion. The amount of expansion to be preferred according to the place to be used may be different.

What is External Pressure Compensator and What Is It?

External pressure compensators, which are generally preferred in underground applications, are those with the ability to absorb high expansion and contraction. It basically consists of bellows and pipe parts. Stainless steel is used in the bellows part. Stainless steel prevents the bellows from corrosion.

In the pipe part, carbon steel is preferred and has a long-term use. Although it is necessary to use quite a lot of compensators for high absorption in long pipelines, external pressure compensators eliminate this need with their basic working principle. Thus, the cost is minimized.

The bellows in the product has features that will protect the axis and increase the pressure resistance of the compensator. In this way, it works effectively in the pipeline and ensures that the system is protected from heat changes and vibrations.

What is External Pressure Compensator?

External Pressure Compensator has a special working principle. Such compensators used in long pipelines change the direction of the fluid and make it possible to apply the fluid outside the bellows. This enables high absorption power to come into play in high expansion or contraction situations.

Although there are compensators with expansion ratios of 30, 60, 90 and 120 mm, special productions can also be made. Thus, the compensator design suitable for the installation to be used is realized and high absorption power is achieved within the system.

What Does an External Pressure Compensator Do?

The external pressure compensator, which draws attention with its innovative features and advanced working principle, is a preferred expansion element in long pipelines. Such elements, which ensure that the pipeline does not change form due to temperature changes or vibrations, prevent the use of too many compensators.

It is possible to say that they are often preferred in long pipelines because they enable savings in terms of cost and space. The compensator, which has the bellows and pipe part, is produced with innovative materials. Corrosion is not seen in the bellows thanks to the stainless steel. In addition, carbon steel is used in the pipe part. Thus, the compensator makes long-term use possible.

Where is External Pressure Expansion Joint Used?

External pressure compensator is a type of compensator that is generally preferred in underground installations. The product, which is a savior in long pipe systems, is also preferred in the following areas:

  • Fluids with high safety factors (hot oil, etc.)
  • Compressed air
  • Hot and cold water systems

The part that enables the compensator cost to be minimized is an expansion element. Thanks to its innovative and technological features, it absorbs high expansion and contraction in the area where it is used.

This product, which is usually produced in standard sizes, can also be designed for different sizes. In addition, the materials used may vary according to demand. Thanks to its features and durable structure, it can be used in the system it is in for a long time and without any problems.
